Donald Bartlett Sr, formerly of Prospect, passed away on Saturday, March 23rd of natural causes after a brief battle with infection. Born October 18th 1938 in Millinocket, Maine, he was a son of the late Wellington and Hettie(Dickerson)Bartlett.
Donald was a long-time resident of Prospect, and spent his working years in the metal finishing industry in Connecticut including Light Metals Coloring Company in Southington, CT and Giering Metal Finishing in Hamden & Waterbury CT.
Don was a loving father, spending years supporting his children’s interests and hobbies as a sports fan, music enthusiast, dance lover, Scout leader, and YMCA Indian Guide leader. He loved the warm weather and retired to FL in 2002 where he lived for 15 years enjoying time with friends and working around his home. He hosted many memorable visits for the grandchildren, enjoying time at his home and Florida attractions with them.
Don was a loving Father and Grandfather leaving behind 3 married children and 7 grandchildren: Donald Bartlett Jr., Kathleen Bartlett, Cara Bartlett, and Adam Bartlett of New London, NH, Steven Bartlett, Lisa Bartlett, and Hayden Bartlett of Prospect, and Jenica Lombardo of Glastonbury,., Sharon Schuster, Chris Schuster, Seth Schuster, Alex Schuster, and Luke Schuster of Southington. Don is also survived by his sisters Christine Lessard of South Carolina and Irma O’Neil of Maine. He is predeceased by his sister Marilyn Emmons and brother Oscar “Sonny” Bartlett.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 5pm to 6:30pm at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:30pm. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family.
