Wanda Brunilda Vazquez de Jimenez, age 94, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on June 3, 1932, in Cayey, Puerto Rico. She lived a life marked by hardships, strength, kindness, and devotion to those she loved. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter, wife and a friend. Her good sense of humor and warm and caring nature touched many lives.
She will be remembered for her resilience, her good sense of humor, and unconditional love she shared with her family. She dreamed of visiting her beautiful Puerto Rican island, but because of her illness she could never return. She yearned for her family and always hoped to see and visit with them again. Her "four-legged baby" pet, her dog named Rufus, provided so much love and comfort to her soul. He will remain with us, providing a piece of her heart.
Through both joyful and challenging times, she remained a source of hope and inspiration to those around her. She was a hardworking, organized, generous, compassionate, old-schooled woman, who had good values, manners and a good sense of humor. These traits will be her legacy for generations to come.
She is survived by her two children, Wanda I. Heffler and Miguel A. Montanez, five grandchildren Shannon Tracy, Michael Montanez, and the "the triplets", David, Robert and Steven Heffler, and her four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husband Hector Jimenez and her sisters Awilda, Ada, Angeles, Delia and Judith Vazquez.
The family is grateful for the care and compassion shown to her throughout her final days. God knows we wanted the best for her, and we all suffered her pain as well.
Though she is no longer with us, her love, wisdom, and memories she created will remain in our hearts.
Those we love will never leave us. They live on through the kindness they shared and the memories we will always hold dear.
A mass honoring her life and a burial date will be announced in days to come.
Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the cremation arrangements and invites you to share your condolences on Wanda's tribute wall on this website.
