Walter Andrew Wallace, 59, of Waterbury, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. He was the husband of Alyson (Harding) Wallace.
Walter was born September 9, 1961 and grew up in Queens, NY a son to the late Edwin D. and Dorothy M. (Schneyer) Wallace.
Walter was an Engineering Consultant for Sikorsky, and proudly served his country in the Air National Guard through many deployments over a 37 year career. A devout Christian, Walter was involved in and supportive of missionary work. He was an elder at Beacon Hill Church and later, an active member of the Bible Church.
Walter loved flying, space, and Star Trek. He was also an avid outdoorsman. With his family, he hiked portions of the Appalachian Trail, many state park trails, Acadia, ME, and visited the Grand Canyon. Racquetball was a favorite sport to play, to the point that he had little idea how to play tennis or badminton. But above all, God and family were of the most importance to Walter. His six children, Lia, Esther, Justin, Bethany, Rebecca, and Alexandra were his pride and joy.
Greatly missing him are his wife Alyson, his six beloved children, Lia’s husband James Morrison, as well as Walter’s brother; Edwin Wallace of NY, and sister; Joan Kahres of PA.
All services are private and at the convenience of the family. Mr. Wallace’s body will be interned, with full military honors in the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown.
