Vincent Orlando Obituary

Vincent Orlando, 86, of Prospect passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, May 20, 2022.  He joins his late wife Marie in heaven.  Vinnie was born September 11, 1935 in Waterbury, Connecticut a son of the late Jim and Josephine (Cipriano)Orlando.

Vinnie was self-employed for many years; owning Contractors Supply Co., selling snowmobiles, working at a nuclear power plant and computer programming.  What a diversified career path that demonstrates how very intelligent Vinnie was.

After retirement Vinnie and his late wife Marie of almost 60 years enjoyed the beautiful gardens and flowers that he so diligently tended.  Making homemade wine and pasta was just one of Vinnie’s pastimes.  He enjoyed fishing, boating, snowmobiles and hunting dogs, but mostly photography and landscaping.  Vinnie was first and foremost a family man; his grandchildren were the light of his life.  He would do anything and everything for his family and friends.  He leaves a legacy of honesty, hard work and dedication.

Left to cherish his love and memory are his daughter Judith and her husband Bill Sirotnak of Oakville.  Bill loved Vin like a father and could be counted on to assist his father in law in any way.  Vin also leaves his cherished grandchildren: William and his fiancé Alisha of Cromwell, who gave him enormous help and love over the years, Gregory and girlfriend Samantha of Oakville and her daughter Riley whom Vinnie was just getting to know, as well as his cherished Alice, Marie, Vincent and Shelley.  Vin is survived by his brother Kenneth of Florida with whom he had the pleasure of reconnecting over the past year.  Additionally, Vin is survived by several nieces and nephews, especially Jill who made his last years happier and less lonely. Luna, his favorite dog, was a great companion.

Vinnie was so blessed to have wonderful friends and neighbors.  Tony and Nellie Rodriguez showed great love and empathy.  Terry Lynch and her sons were great company and were an enormous source of help.  Chuck Lacerenza, a great brother in law, saw Vinnie through many difficult times.

Vinnie was predeceased by his dear wife Marie and his two sons Michael and Vincent as well as a sister Theresa May and his sister in law Rose Lacerenza who lovingly cared for and supported Vin and his wife through sorrow and illness until her own death this past year.
