It is with deep and profound sadness that the Petro family announce the passing of their dear wife and mother Veronica Lynn (Muzi) Petro on Tuesday, June 17, 2024 just one day before her 49th birthday. Veronica died peacefully while surrounded by the love of her family at Waterbury Hospital after a brave and heroic battle with breast cancer.
Veronica was the loving wife of Donald Petro of Waterbury and mother of her cherished children: Jacenya Nyugen, Aysia Quinones, Adreana Petro, Ryan Petro and Matthew Petro. She treasured every moment with her precious grandchildren Juliana Rivera, Xavier Carpentier and Grayson Vincent. She is also mourned by her dear friends Kim Gow, Nelly Looney and cousin Carol Lokites. Her passing leaves a large hole in all their hearts.
Born June 18, 1975 in Waterbury, she was the only child of the late Domenic and Mary Ann (Lubinski) Muzi. She grew up in Waterbury and spent her life raising a loving and close knit family. Organization, comfort and a welcoming Christian environment were high priorities for Veronica. All who knew her were blessed with her kind and outgoing spirit. Her life is a tapestry of love of her family, God and her dear friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life Service for Veronica will be held Monday, June 24, 2024 at 7pm at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. Friends and family are invited to share time with Veronica’s family from 5pm to 7pm. before the start of the service. Sharing your favorite photos, memories and condolences on Veronica’s Tribute Wall at www.prospectmemorial.com provides great comfort in the coming days for her family.
