Steven Morelli Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Steven Morelli announce his passing on Sunday, September 22, 2024 in Bristol embraced by the love of his family.  Steve was the loving life partner of Lynne Morgan for over 24 years.  Born February 1, 1970 in Waterbury, he was one of six children of the late Louis and Jennie (Massarelli) Morelli.

Steve was an IT specialist for EBM Papst for over 20 years.  He enjoyed many lifelong friendships.  Always the outgoing jovial one, Steve instigated fun and laughter wherever he went.  Growing up in his large close-knit Italian family, he and his brothers and sisters embraced their culture- making homemade wine, family dinners and being together whenever possible.  Lynne and Steve were proud pet parents of the adorable and adventurous cats Abbott and Costello.  Lynne, family and his cats were the center of his life.

If you knew Steve, you knew that the NY Yankees reigned supreme in the Morelli household.  Yankee blue was his favorite color.  He also enjoyed long walks at the beach, country music and spending time outdoors in nature.  Steve was so loved and will be immensely missed by his loving family and friends.

Left to cherish his love and memory beside his loving partner Lynne are his brothers and sisters: Debbie Morelli, Joseph and wife Julie Morelli, Louis Morelli and partner Marnee Dutcher all of Waterbury, Susan (Morelli) Mauro and husband Vincent of East Haven and Gary Morelli and partner Lori Pascarelli of Higganum.  Steve also leaves his cherished nieces and nephews Taylor Morelli, Ashleigh Morelli, Vincenzo Mauro and Anthony Mauro as well as his cat Abbott, many cousins and lifelong friends.  Steve is predeceased by his parents and his cat Costello.

Friends and family are invited to visit with Steve’s family on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 9am to 11am at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect.  A celebration of life service will immediately follow at 11am at the funeral home.  Interment will immediately follow at All Saints Cemetery of North Haven, 700 Middletown Ave., North Haven.  Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements and to care for the Morelli family and invites you to share your favorite photos, memories and condolences on Steve’s Tribute Wall at www.prospectmemorial.com
