Stephen Swirski Obituary

Stephen M. Swirski, 55, of Wolcott passed away unexpectedly at Bristol Hospital while surrounded in the love of his family on February 19, 2025.  Steve was the loving husband of Kathy (Lang) Swirski.  Born February 13, 1970 in Waterbury, a son of the late Robert and Lesley (Howard) Swirski.  After graduating from Wolcott High School, Steve went onto a successful career as a machinist.

It was never a dull moment with Steve around.  His practical jokes and one-liners were a trademark. Steve was an avid storm watcher, enjoying the lightening across the sky and resultant thunder.  He was sure to keep his family updated of any weather events predicted.  He would spend quiet evenings searching the sky for UFO’s.   Back in the day, Steve was an avid softball, horseshoe and deck hockey player.  He was a loyal of the Boston Red Sox and the Atlanta Falcons, cheering and couch-coaching were his specialty.  His family was the center of his life.  Steve was a big music influence on his younger brother when they were young. He enjoyed blasting rock music in his room and playing his electric guitar outside on the lawn with his amplifier plugged in via a long extension cord…and the volume knob set to 10! He really loved to rattle people’s cages. It was that behavior that left an impression on Chris, so much so that it motivated him to start playing drums. The brothers would jam, quite loudly, in the basement to their parent’s dismay.  Many happy family times were spent camping and fishing with Kathy and the kids.  If you went fishing with Steve you certainly have some great stories to tell.  Steve left this earthly life too soon but he leaves a vivid life story, an abundance of love and a legacy for all to treasure.

Steve leaves to cherish his love and memory his loving wife Kathy, son Micheal and daughter Kaila, his brother Christopher and his wife Danielle of Guilford.  He also leaves his mother in law Ginette Lang, Sister in law Lynn and husband Tom Daddona all of Wolcott and brother in law Danny and wife Karen of Waterbury as well as several nieces and nephews.  Steve is predeceased by his parents, brother Robert Swirski and brother in law Andrew Lang.
