Obituary

Shawn Bivens, 44, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Shawn was born on August 20, 1978 in Waterbury and was the youngest of six children.

Shawn proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  He worked as a machine operator at Anomatic in Naugatuck and was also a licensed electrician.

Shawn loved being outdoors where he enjoyed hiking and the peaceful solitude of nature. He had a warm heart and would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need.

Shawn is survived by his wife Karen Bivens of Oakville; his mother Judith Hay of Naugatuck; his four brothers: Fred Bivens, Lance Bivens, Eric Bivens, and Brant Bivens (Shannon) of Naugatuck; his mother in law Denise Gilbert of Middlebury, his brother in law Dan Gilbert (Michelle) of Terryville, his aunt Lydia Dixon of Baton Rouge, LA, and his uncle Donald Rogers of Tennessee as well as several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Shawn is predeceased by his brother Brian Bivens and father in law John Gilbert.

There are no funeral services at this time. Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the Bivens family.
