Scott Donald Cable, 65, of Naugatuck, passed away while enfolded in the love of his family after a long, courageous battle with respiratory illness at Waterbury Hospital on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Born in Bridgeport to Donald Cable and Elaine Duhan, Scott grew up and lived all over and around the state of Connecticut. After a brief stint in the Navy, he worked first as an auto mechanic for several years, then as a service specialist for EcoLab for 23 years before retiring. Although Scott had switched his career, his love of American muscle cars and auto body work continued. His exacting talents were evident in his pride and joy, a 1972 orange Chevelle that is now a cherished family heirloom.
Besides the thrill Scott got from his cars, he also enjoyed multitudes of satisfaction just from being with his kids, his significant other, and his pets. His love of music and singing knew no bounds. Scott was known to crack jokes. At even the most inappropriate times he would use humor to lighten the mood. He was smiling, joking and available for his family, even as his illness progressed.
Scott leaves behind his significant other of 14 years, Cindy Barbiero of Naugatuck, and their pets Mally, Asti, and Lil. His memory is carried on by his children- Tiffany Forish & her husband John of Naugatuck, Dominique Cable of Thomaston, and Joshua Cable of New Hampshire. His grandchildren include Justin Blasl, Alex Moore-Cable, Jeremy Sheldon-Cable, and Sloan Forish. Scott is also survived by his sisters Laurie Cook and Roxanne Alfano. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister Sharon “Kathy” Beaudoin.
Visitation will take place on May 2, 2025, from 5 - 7 p.m. with a celebration of life service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home at 122 Waterbury Rd, Prospect CT 06712.
