Robert A. Ciccarelli Sr., 84, of Bethany, passed away peacefully while surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the loving husband of Janis (DelChario) Ciccarelli who together shared 59 years of marriage.
Bob was born on January 22, 1939 in New Haven, one of four sons of the late Grace (Juliano) and Eugene Ciccarelli. Family was the center of Bob’s life. He and Janis were blessed with their own four sons. Their home was filled with love, activity and boisterous days. As their sons grew up and went on to have families of their own, Bob became a devoted grandfather. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He also enjoyed rooting for the UCONN Huskies, spending time in his yard and working on many of his “handyman” projects.
As a devout Catholic, Bob was very active with his parish church. He served as a Eucharistic minister, past president of various church organizations and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob was a faith filled family man. His life was guided by a devotion to God, his wife, family, and tradition.
Left to treasure Bob’s love and memory and to honor his legacy, besides his loving wife Janis, are his four sons: Robert Ciccarelli Jr. (Denise) of North Haven, Todd Ciccarelli (Todd) of Arizona, Brent Ciccarelli (Michelle) of Bethany, and Shane Ciccarelli (Nicole) of Windsor; his six grandchildren: Nichole, Kayla, Jillian, Michael, Jake, and Kathryn;
his loving in-laws Carol and Pat Iannuzzi and Charlotte Ciccarelli, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Bob is predeceased by his three brothers: Philip, Eugene, and Michael Ciccarelli.
