Rita Marie (Grosner) Singer transitioned into the loving arms of our Savior on November 10, 2023. She was predeceased by her parents, Daniel Albert Grosner and Frances Agnes (Lukac) Grosner as well as by her sister Alberta Marie Grosner. Also passed are her ex-husband, Frederick H. Singer, and later-in-life love, Andrew Adam. She joins them now, along with our other loving family members.
Mistakenly referred to as “Ruth” in her birth announcement, she lived up to her saint’s name “Rita” by working through impossible circumstances to achieve much. She often held 2-3 jobs simultaneously. She traveled across North America, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America by way of Aruba. She enjoyed Europe, and especially Paris, France and Bruges, Belgium. She photographed many animals during three different safaris across Africa. Fiercely independent, she lived life on her terms.
Rita is survived by her daughter, Julieanne (Singer) Capodagli (Albert), brothers Daniel S. Grosner (Marilyn), and Francis X. Grosner. Also, sister-in-law Lois (Singer) Broas (Robert), nieces Debra Grosner (William McDonnell), Jennifer (Grosner) Johnson (David Baldwin), Ruth (Broas) Siter (Michael), and nephews Jeffrey Grosner (Rebecca DeFusco) and Robert Broas Jr.
A graveside burial will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06610, on December 4, 2023 at 10:30am.
