Richard J. Stewart, Sr., 77, of Prospect, surrounded by his family, passed away on Sunday, April 18, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of Joanne (Deschenes) Stewart.

He was born in Waterbury on May 24, 1943 son of the late Edgar and Frances (Cormier) Stewart. Richard was the owner/operator of Atlantic Pavement Marking, the business his father started.

Besides his wife Joanne, Richard is survived by his children Richard Stewart, Jr. and wife Kim, Michael Stewart and wife Cheryl, and Marc Stewart and wife Amy all of Prospect. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren Alyssa, Paige, Brett, Alexah, Alivia, Haylie and Jordynn.

Per Richard request, all services are private and at the convenience of the family. Prospect Memorial Funeral home is assisting the family with arrangements.
