It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Rachel Giannini on January 29, 2026. Born July 3, 1991 to Deb and Brian Giannini, she brought excitement, enthusiasm and courage to each day of the next 34 years. Rachel Giannini packed more vim and vigor into 34 years than most people manage in twice as long.
It’s fitting to note that while Rachel completed the final leg of her brave and complex journey on January 29th- she did so, not as a victim of Cystic Fibrosis or her myriad other medical conditions -but as a vanquisher- absolutely refusing to let ailing health dictate her actions or diminish her invincible spirit. From her youngest days, Rachel demonstrated life was meant to be immersive- not merely witnessed. Would-be boundaries imposed by CF, double lung transplants, diabetes, and kidney failure (only a partial listing)- were bypassed or, if necessary, smashed through. To be sure, Rachel sought escapades, joy, and occasional chaos whenever possible. Whether it was travel to Lake Tahoe or Las Vegas, hanging with friends or adding “just one more tattoo”, Rachel made most of us feel timid by comparison.
Rachel leaves behind a legacy of boundless love for her family- especially her brother Matt, brother Colin, sisters Lauren and Sarah, Mom, Dad, nephew Ian and niece Isla, faithful pup Cooper and his “cousin” Meeko.
