Peter Laurie

Peter Laurie, 60, of Waterbury died unexpectedly on November 1, 2022, the day after his 60th birthday.  Peter was born October 31, 1962 in Georgetown, Guyana, the son of John Laurie and the late Parbattie Boodhoo.  Peter’s mother died shortly after Peter was born and he grew up only hearing stories about her.

While living in Guyana, Peter enjoyed hunting in his spare time.  After coming to live in the United States, Peter reunited with his siblings after being apart for many years.  Peter enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed baking, cooking and grilling.  More than anything Peter loved his family; time spent with them was the highlight of his life.

Left to cherish his love and memory are his father John and stepmother Kowsilla Laurie and his four children: Navin, Vivindra, Alicea and Felisha Laurie and his two son in laws Adrian Persaud and Vishal Sirkissoon.   Peter also leaves his six cherished grandchildren Brandon and Brian Ganesh, Kalvin and Kesha Laurie and Nathaniel and Aurelia Persaud.   He also leaves his brothers: Victor, Rudy, Eric, and Derrick Laurie and sisters: Elizabeth, Nalini and Millie Laurie as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.

Peter was predeceased by his mother Parbattie and his son Rapheal Laurie.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 9 AM to 10:45 AM at Prospect Memorial /The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect with the funeral service starting at 10:45am.  We will then travel in procession to New Pine Grove Crematory for cremation.  Prospect Memorial/The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with Peter’s services.  Sharing your presence for his services and your words of sympathy on his Tribute Wall on this website will bring them comfort during this very difficult time.
