Beloved Daughter, Cousin and Friend
Peggy Laura Goddard, 76, of Naugatuck, passed away at Waterbury Hospital on March 25, 2025 after a serious illness.
Peggy was born to Leland & Lorraine (Cayer) Goddard in Rumford, Maine on January 24, 1949. Growing up in Maine left a great impact on her and Peggy cherished her childhood in the remote nature there. After moving to Connecticut, Peggy spent part of her life living and working on Blue Hills Farm in Wallingford. She loved the views of the farm and wandering the orchards- it was truly a slice of the simple life as the city grew around it. As an incredibly faithful woman, Peggy was very involved in the church her entire life and adored singing alto in the choir at Naugatuck Congregational Church for many years. Peggy was always generous with her time, love, and finances as she would donate most of her paychecks consistently to a variety of efforts- veterans, the disabled, animals, children, etc. If you needed something and Peggy could assist, she always would leap to help with a smile on her face.
Peggy undoubtedly joins her father, Leland, in Heaven, and is survived by her mother, Lorraine Goddard of Naugatuck, her cousin Roger Jones and his wife Sue of Livermore Falls, Maine, and several other cousins in Maine.
Friends and family are invited to visit with Peggy’s family on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 11am to noon at Prospect Memorial/The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. A memorial service will immediately follow at 12 noon. The burial will be held at the convenience of the family in their own cemetery in Maine.
