Nicole Monteiro Jusuf, 49, of Prospect, CT, passed away suddenly on May 9, 2025. Born in Waterbury, CT, on March 29, 1976, she was the daughter of Anthony and Mary (Lobraico) Monteiro and the soulmate of Nesedzan (Ness) Jusuf.
A beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend; Nicole was deeply passionate about spending time with family, friends, her cat Callie, and dog Lilly. She was loved by many friends and co-workers and cherished simple pleasures such as taking rides, engaging in conversations, basking in the sun, and enjoying life. Nicole had an exceptional ability to make people feel welcome and loved. Her daily actions reflected her care and dedication, whether through phone calls or texts, always being there when needed. Animals were particularly dear to her, including horses, cats, and her beloved dogs, which she considered family and brought immense joy to her life. Nicole's quiet strength and kindness left lasting impressions on everyone she met.
In April 2021, Nicole experienced profound loss with the passing of her mother and best friend- Mary, who had endured a prolonged illness. This event significantly impacted Nicole, and her health began to decline. Her husband Ness provided unwavering support, prioritizing Nicole's wellbeing. Having known each other since she was 16 and married since 2010, Ness cared for Nicole as she faced diabetes and coped with her mother's death.
Nicole is survived by her devoted husband of 15 years, Ness; her father Anthony Monteiro of Prospect; her mother and father-in-law Medet Jusuf and Jashar Tairovski of Waterbury; her brother Frank and his wife Michele Monteiro of Prospect; her nephew Anthony Monteiro of Prospect; her niece Jeylan Jusuf of Seymour, her nephew Nikolas Pellegrino of Seymour; and several aunts; uncles; and cousins. Nicole was predeceased by her mother Mary (Lobraico) Monteiro of Prospect and her “fur-babies” Max and Rock.
The family extends their gratitude to the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department, all the first responders, and the Emergency Room Staff of Saint Mary’s Hospital for their efforts on May 9th.
