Natalia (Furtado) Dias, 82, of Prospect and formerly of Naugatuck, entered into heavenly rest while in the loving presence of her family on Wednesday, January 25, 2024. She now joins her beloved departed husband Herminio Dias who passed just 7 months ago. Born December 6, 1941 in Portugal, Natalia was a daughter of the late Dagoberto and Nazarete (Correia) Furtado.
Natalia “Natalie” was a sweet, gentle woman who gave generously of herself to all who were blessed to know her. Her precious grandchildren could count on a special treat every single time they were with her. What a blessing that they were able to have much time with their grandparents while their parents were working. She was a fantastic cook who put her love into each dish. Natalie’s signature lasagna was scrumptious. Family was always Natalie’s focus, she was happiest when her family surrounded her. She was a gentle loving wife, mother and grandmother with a beautiful smile and spirit. Natalie was a devout Catholic; she felt much solace during her brief illness knowing she will eventually be with her husband and God.
She leaves to cherish her love and memory : her daughter Michele Clifford and husband Kevin of Prospect and son Richard and wife Jennifer of Wolcott as well as her cherished grandchildren Tyler, and Brandon Clifford and Julia and Natalie Dias. She also leaves her sister-in-law Maria Fatima Furtado and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her husband Herminio, Natalia is predeceased by her brothers Manuel and John Furtado and sister-in-law Maria Luisa Furtado.
