Monique Marie Tremalio, 54, of Monroe, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, after a courageous four-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She is survived by her loving husband, Brian Tremalio; her cherished daughters, Alannah Tremalio and Makenna Tremalio; her mother, Margie Ciccone; her father, Frank Skarren; and her brother, Robert Skarren. She is also lovingly remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Born on October 15, 1971, in Queens, New York, Monique was the daughter of Margie Ciccone and Frank Skarren. She grew up in Levittown, New York, where she graduated from Division Avenue High School. She went on to earn her associate degree from SUNY Sullivan in Loch Sheldrake, New York.
Monique built a meaningful career in healthcare administration. She served as an office manager at Norwalk Hospital for Dr. John Garofalo for approximately five years before continuing her vocation at Baker Pediatrics with Dr. Kathryn Baker for around fifteen years. Her dedication and professionalism left a lasting impression on colleagues and patients alike.
A devoted Catholic and active member of St. Stephen’s Church, Monique lived her faith through service and compassion. She was deeply involved in her community—leading Girl Scout troops, volunteering at school events, and enthusiastically supporting her daughters’ sporting activities. Her nurturing spirit, warmth, and ever-present smile touched all who knew her.
Monique faced her Alzheimer’s diagnosis with remarkable bravery, dignity, and grace. Over the course of four years, she met every challenge with quiet strength, surrounded by unwavering love from her family. The Tremalio family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate doctors, nurses, aides, hospice staff, and caregivers who walked alongside Monique in her journey and provided extraordinary care, comfort, and support during her illness. Their kindness will never be forgotten.
Above all else, Monique was a loving wife and an extraordinary mother. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and her love for them was endless. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her love, laughter, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of her husband and daughters forever.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on December 20, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Stephen’s Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull, Connecticut.
