Michael Lategano, of Woodbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025.
Born on December 11, 1956, in New York City, NY, as the son of James F. and Michelina Lategano. Michael graduated with the Class of 1974 from Pomperaug High School in Southbury, CT, and later attended Naugatuck Valley Community College.
Michael was a long-time resident of Woodbury, Connecticut. He was a talented musician and craftsman, known and loved as a brother, father, and friend. Michael consecrated his life to acts of selfless service. He was ready and willing to help his communities, including The International Society for Krishna Consciousness, Woodbury Yoga Center, and St. Paul’s Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, his son, Lonny Evica, and his sister, Jane Lategano (John) Pinciaro, Michael is survived by his brother, James F. Lategano Jr. (Kaori Yamada), his sister, Felicia (Brian) Nagamatsu, his brothers, Francis Lategano and Ralph (Donna Marie) Lategano, and his life partner, Emma O. Spenser.
A humble servant of the Lord, Michael's devotion to God, family, friends, and music was evident to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and long remembered for his loving service and unwavering commitment to his faith and community.
A memorial service will be held for Michael on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at 3pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 294 Main St. South, Woodbury, CT. Burial will be private at Woodbury Cemetery, Woodbury, CT.
Rest in peace, Michael. Your melody lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.
