Michael Agvent Obituary

Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend

Michael V. Agvent, 66, of Wolcott died peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Thursday, October 12, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Mike was the loving husband of Andrea (Kaczmarczyk) Agvent for 29 wonderful years.  Born May 30, 1957 in Bridgeport, Mike was a son of the late Charles and Mary (Puopolo) Agvent.

Mike retired from Sikorsky Aircraft where he made many lifelong friends. Mike was an avid bowler with his Friday night Apple Valley Bowling League. He became the favorite “youngster” with the Tuesday senior bowlers. Besides bowling, Mike was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and Lions.   He was an all-around great guy and friend to many people.

As a jack of all trades, he spent many hours teaching and helping complete projects with his kids and friends.  Mike was always meticulous with anything he did whether automotive, carpentry or landscaping.  He built almost all of their Wolcott home; the landscape and hardscape meticulously maintained.  His handiwork is exceptional.

Mike met his soulmate Andrea through their sons who were friends.  The irony being that they lived within a mile of each other for several years and hadn’t met prior to their sons’ introduction.  It was love at first site and as they say the rest is history.  They blended their families beautifully and spent the last 29 years making great memories.  Traveling to beautiful places, family dinners, watching all the games his grandchildren played and just being together as a family brought so much joy.  The sun rose and set on his grandchildren.

Left to honor Mike’s love and memory are besides his wife Andrea:  his son Nick (Lindsey) Agvent of Co., daughter Toni Marie (Doug) Ciarleglio of Prospect, stepdaughter Erin (Mike) DeSena of Burlington and stepson Dave (Katie) Novotnak of Harwinton, his brothers Charles (Janice ) of Pa. and Richard of NM and brother-in-law Don Kaczmarczky with whom he loved to travel..  He also leaves his cherished grandchildren Evan and Owen Ciarleglio, Tony and Samantha DeSena and Nathan and Charliegh Novotnak.  Mike was the favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews and the best friend to all his cherished friends.
