Mary T. (Lobraico) Monteiro

Mary T. (Lobraico) Monteiro, 72, of Prospect, surrounded by her family passed away at home on Sunday, April 11, 2021. She was the loving wife of Anthony “Tony” Monteiro, it was love at first sight and grew for over 52 years.

She was born in Waterbury on February 26, 1949 daughter of the late Alfred and Marion (Lombardo) Lobraico. Mary was a 1967 graduate of Wilby HS and went on to Mattatuck Community College attaining her associates degree while raising her family and working full time. She went on to Quinnipiac University to get her Bachelors Degree. Prior to her retirement, Mary worked as a Nuclear Radiation Technician for both Waterbury Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital.

Besides her husband Tony, Mary leaves to cherish her love and memory her children Frank Monteiro and wife Sandra and Nicole Jusuf and husband “Ness”, and a grandson Anthony all of Prospect, along with several nieces and nephews. She leaves Gail, MaryEllen, Betty and Donna who were sisters by choice. She also leaves behind her special and loyal poodle Molly whom she loved more than any person.

She was predeceased by two brothers Robert and Alfred Lobraico.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. All CDC and state COVID guidelines will be adhered to.
