Mary Kline Obituary

In Loving Memory of Mary Teresa Kline

May 1, 1937 – August 3, 2025

Mary Teresa Kline’s beautiful journey began in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on May 1, 1937. She was the cherished middle daughter of Mamie and Anthony Colangelo and grew up surrounded by the love of her close-knit Italian family. As sisters, Mary, Beatrice, and Ann shared an inseparable bond — one so special that at every family gathering, they never missed the chance to capture their signature “three sisters” photo together.

At the age of 21, fate stepped in when Mary met the love of her life, Thomas Howard Kline, at the local dry goods store where they both worked — he, a stock boy with a ladder; she, the lovely cashier who couldn’t help but notice. That chance meeting turned into a lifelong romance, and they were married on August 1, 1959. From then on, their love only deepened, marked by devotion, laughter, and an unwavering partnership that lasted over six decades.

Together, they built a family, welcoming their first son, Thomas, on December 9, 1961. Mary was overjoyed to share her pride in her son with her father, who passed down his name as Thomas’s middle name. On November 6, 1965, they were blessed again with a second son, Eric. In 1968, Mary gave birth to a third son, Anthony, who tragically passed away shortly after birth — a loss that stayed in her heart forever.

Mary stood steadfastly by her husband’s side as he pursued a career with IBM, eventually relocating their family to Apalachin, New York. After retirement, they embraced the sunshine and warmth of Bradenton, Florida, where they spent the next 30+ years living life to the fullest. Mary was truly in her element — square dancing, line dancing, exercising, traveling, and making her famous homemade pizza that she joyfully shared with the neighbors.

Even after 65 years of marriage, Mary and Tom remained smitten — holding hands, dancing together, blowing kisses across the room — a living testament to what true love looks like. Their love was deep, enduring, and inspirational.

In her final chapter, Mary faced leukemia with quiet grace and passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, at New Britain Hospital. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Thomas, and their two sons, Thomas and Anthony — a heavenly reunion we can only imagine filled with joy.

Mary leaves behind her loving son Eric Kline and her adored grandson, Andrew Thomas Kline, who brought her endless pride and joy. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Beatrice Carpenter and Ann Jacobs, and her brother-in-law Bob Jacobs, along with many treasured nieces and nephews from the Colangelo and Logie families.

To know Mary was to love her. A true social butterfly, she never met a stranger — only new friends. She lit up every room with her smile, her warmth, and her stories, always ready to brag about her children, her husband, or both. Her presence made the world brighter, and though we find comfort knowing she is at peace, our hearts are heavier without her light among us.

Mary Teresa Kline’s legacy is one of deep love, enduring family bonds, and joy in the simple pleasures of life. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
