Mary T. (Jones) Hart

Mary T. Jones Hart, 70, formerly of Naugatuck, died August 31, 2024 after a brief illness in Lancaster, PA. She was the widow of Clarence Hart. She is survived by her sister Kathleen A. Jones, of Naugatuck, her nieces Jessica Sawyer and Brittni Jones, and her nephew Howard P. Jones- all of Virginia, as well as her significant other, Karl Granoth, of PA, who lovingly cared for her during her illness.

Mary was born January 7, 1954, to the late Howard J. and Gertrude (Oemcke) Jones. Mary graduated from Naugatuck High School in 1972 and attended Briarwood School for Women. She graduated from York Technical Institute with an Associate’s degree in Specialized Medical Technology. She actively pursued learning throughout her life. She loved animals, jewelry making, and at one time was even a soloist with the Kollege Kapers. She camped when she could and loved to travel.

In her lifetime, Mary held several unique jobs including: working as a nurse’s aide, working at Fairfield Hills, employment at a movie theater, and even assisting in the parking of airplanes on the runway at Tweed Airport! She also worked in both the hotel and retail business.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Howard L. Jones of Virginia.

A service of celebration and remembrance of Mary’s life will be held on August 26, 2025, at Prospect Memorial/The Palmerie Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until 12 P.M., with the service beginning at 12 P.M. and lunch to follow.  Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice are greatly appreciated by her family.
