Retired Microbiology Supervisor
Marjorie R. Schnerr age 85 of Prospect passed died peacefully at the Care Center of Middlebury on June 13, 2025. Marge was born April 17, 1940 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Harold Schnerr Sr. and Ruth (Doolittle) Schnerr. She was a graduate of the Prospect Community School, Crosby High School and the University of Connecticut where she received her degree as a medical technologist.
Marge worked for the Waterbury Hospital for 33 years as the Supervisor of the Microbiology Department. She was a registered Medical Technologist and a past President of the Connecticut Society of Medical Technologists.
Her passion was for growing and exhibiting dahlias which she did for over 40 years. Marge was a past president of the Connecticut Dahlia Society, the North American Dahlia Conference and a Vice President -At-Large of the American Dahlia Society. She was a Senior Dahlia Judge. Marge shared her knowledge and expertise teaching many others the art of growing dahlias.
Marge leaves her nieces Lori Schnerr of Prospect, Doreen Cocchiola and her husband Robert of SC, her great niece Kylene LaFortune and her husband Mark of Oxford, great nephew Eric Schnerr and his wife Elena of Middletown and her great grand niece Reese.
Arrangements: Visitation Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 6pm to 7pm at Prospect Memorial/The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 (new location) Waterbury Rd. Prospect. Funeral service will immediately follow at 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be Thursday June 19, 2025 at 10am at Prospect Cemetery. Family will receive guests at 9:15am with procession departing from Prospect Memorial Funeral Home at 9:45am. Prospect Memorial/The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family.
