Lorraine (Cayer) Goddard

Lorraine C. Goddard, 95, formerly of Prospect passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025 at Glendale Health Center after a long illness.  Lorraine is now reunited in heaven with her husband Leland Goddard and her daughter Peggy Goddard.  Born December 2, 1929 in Rumford, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Louis Cayer and Laura (Demerse) Cayer.

Lorraine was a gentle and loving woman with a sweet smile.  Her devout faith brought her enduring strength during the difficult times.  Her family was her joy.  During her younger years, she worked as a manager for Blue Hills Farm in Wallingford.  When she and her family moved to Prospect, they joined the Prospect Congregational Church.  As a member of the Evening Women’s Group she enjoyed the gift of fellowship, service and friendship.  She enjoyed gardening, the countryside of Maine and music.  The sound of her daughter Peg’s singing always brought her joy.   

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 10am to 11am at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect.  Funeral services will begin at 11 am at the funeral home.  Prospect Memorial/ the Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements and invites you to share your words of remembrance and sympathy on Lorraine’s tribute wall on this website.
