Lindora G Riddick

Lindora G. Riddick, Born October 2nd, 1934 in Bridgeport, CT. Her parents were Lawrence Godwin and Dorothy G. Scott. She leaves behind a deceased brother, James Robinson and two sisters Gloria Copeland of Waterbury and Dorothy “Betty” Battles of Newark, NJ. She lived in Waterbury all her life.

She graduated from Walsh Grammar School and Wilby High School in Waterbury, CT. After graduation, she married Calton Riddick from Gatesville, NC, who is deceased. Also, she leaves behind three daughters: Linda Owens, Sandra Bolden, and Patricia Franklin, two sons-in-law, Tyrone Owens and Melvin Franklin, Sr. She worked as a phone operator at Southern New England Phone Company in Waterbury and 25 years at Scovill’s Manufacturing. Also at Sears & Roebucks for a number of years.

Her grandchildren are: Nivana Douglas, Tyrone Douglas, deceased granddaughter Latrice Riddick, Shantee Deyo, Beatrice Douglas, Quiana Turner, Marquita Williams, Quinita Pitts, Santana Ligon, Shianne Nelson , Alyssa Franklin, Deven Riddick, Melvin Franklin, Jr.

Also, she leaves grandson-in-laws Kyle Turner, Devon Williams, Terrell Pitts, Elmore Ligon, Brion Nelson, Andre Deyo, and one granddaughter-in-law Stephanie Franklin. A host of great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. And a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Calling hours for Lindora will take place at The Refuge Church of Christ, 13 Hawkins St, Waterbury, CT 06704 on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 10-11 AM. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM. Burial will immediately follow services at New Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Rd, Waterbury, CT 06705.  Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be assisting Lindora’s family with the arrangements.
