Loving mother, grandmother, Retired RN
Lillian (Adamy) Rinaldi, 93, formerly of Prospect, died peacefully while surrounded by the love of her family on January 26, 2024. Lillian is the widow of the late Ralph Rinaldi. Born May 3, 1930 in Manchester, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Katherine (Demko) Adamy.
Lil was a proud graduate of The Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1952. She dedicated her skills and compassion to her little patients in the NICU of Waterbury Hospital and later to the residents of Whitewood Manor. Athletic, competitive and smart. She was a devoted UCONN Women’s Huskies fan. Lil was an avid reader well into her early 90’s. Despite advanced macular degeneration, she read with an adaptive screen, voraciously making her way through many novels.
Every year Lil worked diligently in her garden. She enjoyed painting and was quite talented. Every holiday season she would free hand a Christmas mural on her picture window, visible and readable for all passersby to enjoy.
She and her late husband, Ralph traveled all over Europe. She made sure to instill the credo of enjoying life through all the ages, as you never know what the next day will bring. Baking, cooking and spending time with family brought her so much joy. She loved her family infinitely, losing her only daughter was devastating. Family was the essence of her life.
Lillian’s love and memory will be cherished by her sons: Ralph and wife Lily of NC, and Mike and wife Nancy Rinaldi of SC as well as her four adoring grandchildren: Katherine Rinaldi, Jacquelyn Rinaldi, Christopher and Michelle Giustina and step grandchildren: Brittany Rosado-Doolan and husband Matthew and Bethany and Brianna Rosado as well as seven precious great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews . Lillian is predeceased by her husband Ralph and her daughter Lillian Attenello as well as brother William Adamy and sister Elaine Kizis.
