Lillian Inserro Maffia

Lillian (Miss Lil) Inserro Maffia, 98, entered eternal rest January 7, 2024. She was the widow of Frank L. Maffia. She is survived by sons Frank and his wife Kim and Michael and wife Paula.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10 am at St. Leo the Great Church, 14 Bentwood Dr., Waterbury, CT 06705. Burial will follow Mass at Calvary Cemetery, 2324 E Main St, Waterbury, CT 06705. To Those I Love and who love me:

When I am gone, release me, let me go.

I have so many things to see and do,

You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears,

Be thankful for our many beautiful years.

I gave to you my love, you can only guess

How much you gave to me in happiness.

I thank you for the love you each have shown,

But now it is time I travel on alone.

So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must,

Then let your grief be comforted by trust.

It is only for a time that we must part,

I won’t be far away, for life goes on.

Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near.
