LeAnn Capomolla Obituary

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister

LeAnn Capomolla, 62, of Waterbury passed away peacefully on February 24, 2024 at Waterbury Hospital while surrounded by her loving family after a brave and valiant battle with cancer.  She was the soulmate and wife of Dominic Capomolla Sr. for over 47 wonderful years.  Born January 29, 1962 in Memphis, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Donald and Betty J. (Hudson) Preuss Sr.

LeAnn was loving, patient and full of energy. Being the mother of 3 sons, LeAnn was ready for anything. Whether it was jumping on the trampoline, going to the park, or driving to the moon and back to pick up her grandbabies to bring them for a special treat. Her life was devoted to her family, and her family was her life.  Cooking was a talent and a passion along with always making each person a little something special just because. She always made sure to have everyone’s feelings met before her own, “she called hers MEMES TIME” where she would sit on her tablet and drink her tea but funny enough her time was also looking up fun recipes or deserts to make for all of us for the weekend or for a party.  She and Dominic enjoyed vacations to the beach, most recently to Aruba.  They amassed as many beautiful memories as they could since the time of her diagnosis.  Always a trooper, she made plans for her future with her loving family.

LeAnn loved children.  Before having her own, she was a preschool teacher.  She loved family time.  Being together with all of them was a noisy and joyful time.  Her love, her humor and her absolute dedication to family and friends will be honored and cherished by all who knew her.  Her sons adored her and she them.

Left to cherish LeAnn’s love and memory are beside her husband Dominic are her sons: Dominick Jr., (Heather) of Stamford, Donald of Waterbury and Daniel (Soila) of Waterbury as well as her cherished 7 grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother Donald Preuss Jr of Miss., and sisters: Kathy (Sam) Vega of Mo., Vicki (Donny) Gibson of Mo., Jacky (Jerry) Becker of Tenn., Donna (Al) of Az. and Mary Walker of Alaska.

All celebrations of life will be determined and all will be notified when dates and venues are set.  Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for LeAnn and the Capomolla family during this difficult time of grief.  Your expressions of love and support on her Tribute Wall on this website are greatly comforting.
