Kevin Daly Cleary 

Kevin Cleary, 74, passed away on October 16, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness.  He was born at St. Mary’s on April 12, 1951, to the late William W. and Harriet (Lee) Cleary.   

Kevin was a graduate of Wolcott High School after which he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in Germany, and for which he received the National Defense Service Medal and Marksman recognition.  After his service, he returned home and was employed at Hamilton Beach as a heavy equipment operator.  Later, Kevin worked for many years as a care provider. 

Kevin was involved in his community by coaching in the Adult Co-Ed Softball League.   

He leaves behind his wife Christen Cleary and her daughter, Ash Ababet, his brothers- Michael of Waterbury and Patrick of Delaware, his sister Maureen of Litchfield, several nieces and nephews, and many cousins. In addition to his parents, Kevin was predeceased by siblings- William, Shaun, Brian, Peter, Margaret and Harriet. 

A funeral Mass will be held at the Chapel of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 10 a.m.  Arrangements are entrusted to Prospect Memorial/The Palmerie Family Funeral Home (www.prospectmemorial.com).
