Kelly Nichole Ortiz

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Kelly Nichole Ortiz, 23, of Naugatuck, on April 3, 2025. Born to Ruby Anderson and the late Felipe Ortiz, on a glowing Monday morning Kelly arrived and immediately lit up their lives.

Kelly attended and graduated from Naugatuck High School. Her vibrant personality shined amongst her classmates- whether it was her singing and dancing, or her deep interest in all things nerdy. Kelly was a glittering star to everyone that interacted with her. Her love of sunflowers matched her personality, sunny. She loved playing trading card games like Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokémon with her family and friends, though Black Rose Dragon was undoubtedly her favorite Yu-Gi-Oh card in her deck.  Anime was her other favorite pastime and she stayed up to date on Demon Slayer, Pokémon, and the latest Yu-Gi-Oh!: Go Rush!! series. When not bingeing anime, Kelly would watch Disney & Marvel movies, wrestling matches, and all three Sonic the Hedgehog movies.

Kelly is predeceased by her father, Felipe, and her sister, Kristen Ortiz. Memories of her beautiful, bright life are kept alive by her mother, Ruby Anderson, and her sister, Precious Anderson & husband, Antonio Irizarry, along with her niece Lucinda and nephew Dean. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kelly leaves behind her fur baby Jenna, whom she cherished, and joins her other fur baby, Shiloh, at the rainbow bridge.

Visitation will take place on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., followed by a celebration of life service at 7 at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, located at 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect, CT 06712.
