Joyce (McGregor) Compton

Joyce Compton, whose life was filled with love, adventure, and unwavering devotion to her family, passed away on December 2, 2025.

Laverne Joyce McGregor was born in Memphis, TN, on December 18, 1942. Drawn by their shared love of the Rocky Mountains, she and Wayne—the love of her life—spent more than 36 wonderful years living in Colorado. After Wayne’s passing in 2020, Joyce moved to Connecticut, where she embraced a new chapter surrounded by family and continued creating cherished memories.

She devoted many years to her career at Federal Express, proudly known as employee number 9620. Joyce approached her work with loyalty, diligence, and a spirit of camaraderie that left a lasting impression on all who worked alongside her.

For 59 beautiful years, Joyce shared an extraordinary life with her devoted husband, Wayne. Their journey together was filled with wonder—traveling the world and savoring margarita pizza along the way, from Italy, Germany, and France to Thailand, China, Greece, New Zealand and many, many more. Music was always a cherished part of their life, as was the simple joy of being side by side. Their adventures became some of her life’s greatest gifts, memories that reflected the depth of their love and the happiness they found in one another.

Joyce’s heart belonged first and foremost to her beloved family. She is lovingly remembered by her three sisters; her two daughters and sons-in-law; her three cherished grandchildren and granddaughter-in-law; her two precious great-grandchildren and loyal great-grandpup. Nothing brought her more joy than celebrating life’s milestones with them—cheering their accomplishments, sharing in their happiness, and offering her steady, unconditional love and Cheezits.

Those who knew Joyce will remember her for her warm sense of humor, her joyful smile, and the way she made everyone feel like family. Her presence was a gift, and her memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. At last, she is reunited with her precious love once again.
