Joseph Robert Weiner, 26, of Prospect died peacefully on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital while surrounded by the love of his family. Joey brought joy to all who knew and loved him. He was born January 24, 1995 in Farmington, CT, a son of Kathleen McCarthy and Jeffery Wiener.
Joey filled all those around him with joy, his sweet smile and easy-going nature. It was a tradition that he would get the first piece of every birthday cake after the cut for wishes was made, a long-held tradition for all his family members. He loved swimming, flipping through magazines, enjoying fun times with his siblings and ride-alongs with his wonderful long-time caregiver Denzel. Joey taught others by example that the simple things in life are important and time is a gift. Daily visits, fist bumps and hugs will now be had for the two best friends, Joey and Poppy, in Heaven. Joey leaves a legacy of love and joy; he elevated those he loved to be better people because of the unconditional joy he spread. He will be so terribly missed.
Left to cherish Joey’s love and memory besides his Mom Kathleen McCarthy and step Dad Al Bracone of Prospect who also helped raise him and gave his support and love through the medical difficulties and everyday joys, are his father Jeffrey(Amy) Wiener of Waterbury his sister Amanda( Anthony) Minicucci of South Windsor, brothers Christopher Wiener of Meriden and Robert Wiener of Prospect, his grandparents Diane McCarthy of Prospect, Harvey and Rosemary Wiener of Watertown. Joey also leaves his uncles Michael (Laurie - godmother) McCarthy of Southbury, Mark (Sherry) McCarthy of Virginia, Robert (Yvonne) Bracone of New York and Aunts Colleen (Joseph) Capossela of South Windsor, and Lil(Rich)Serrano of New York, Debbie(David) Benjamin of Watertown, great uncle William (Eileen) McCarthy of Wolcott and his cousins: Andrew, Skylar, Krista and Kevin as well as his long-time devoted caregiver and friend Denzel Anderson.
