Joseph R. Ball Jr. passed away on December 27th, 2021 at the age of 66 years old. Joseph is survived by his fiance Phoebegail Lourigan; his children Joseph R. Ball III, Jennifer Ball Durand and Christine Springer. He had 6 grandchildren; Troy Kealey, Joseph R. Ball IV, Clyde Durand, John Ball, June Ball and Evelyn Durand. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph R. Ball Sr. and Mary Grace Ball. He was the eldest of 6 siblings who he leaves behind (Dr. James Ball, Jeffrey Ball, Janet Watren and Jeanette Schmeidbauer, and Jay Ball). Joe also leaves his former wife Deborah Moulder.
Joseph was a brilliant man who was exceptional in mathematics, engineering and project management. Starting his career as a carpenter working with his father, Joe quickly rose to meet the challenges of any project presented to him: building bridges in Philadelphia, running concrete jobs for D'Andrea Construction, constructing natural gas substations around the country for Texas Eastern, and working throughout his career for JL Allen, ending with projects in Oxford, Connecticut. Joe was a problem solver who lived for the job, and he found fulfillment in mastering his trade.
Joseph was respected by his colleagues and his peers for leadership capabilities that stemmed from his childhood and high school years excelling in athletics as a quarterback and catcher.
Joseph had a passion for life and freedom rarely recognized by the everyday observer. He believed in truth over everything.
Hi advice to all of us: Life. Live it.
