Janet Ann Zdanowicz

Janet A. Zdanowicz, 62, of Prospect passed away peacefully while surrounded by the love of her family on Easter morning at Waterbury Hospital.  Janet was a compassionate and dedicated nurse.  Born on November 18, 1960, Janet was the proud daughter of the late Joseph R. and Dolores (Lupkas) Zdanowicz.

Janet was a gentle compassionate person who touched the lives of many throughout her career as an LPN.  Over her more than 25 years, she worked in convalescent homes and lastly as an office nurse for Dr. Edwards.  Janet enjoyed gardening and certainly had a green thumb as her annual flower display was always beautiful.  She loved spending time with family and was an animal lover, especially dogs.  Her golden retriever Brady brought her so much joy.

Left to cherish her love and memory are her brother Joe and his wife Marie Zdanowicz of Prospect and her uncles Robert and Betsy Lupkas of Clinton, John “Jack” Lupkas of Wolcott and Richie and Madelyn Lupkas of Derby.  And of course, her pup Brady. 

A mass of Christian burial for Janet will be on Wednesday April 19, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. Anthony’s Church, 4 Union City Rd., Prospect.  All those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church.  Burial will immediately follow at Prospect Cemetery.  In honor of Janet’s dedication to her patients and her profession, a Nightingale Tribute ceremony will take place graveside.  Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be assisting Janet’s family and invite you to share a favorite memory and your words of comfort for the Zdanowicz family on her Tribute Wall on this website.
