It is with deep sadness and profound loss that the daughters of Janet M. Polseno announce her peaceful passing on March 5, 2025 in Watertown, CT. She is now able to join her late husband, Mark Polseno in heaven. Janet was a leap year baby, born on February 29, 1956. She was the daughter of the late Bill Murray and June (Reck) Murray. Janet was raised in Trumbull, CT and grew up with her four siblings. Later in life, her father built a cottage on Candlewood Lake, where many great memories were made throughout the years.
Janet held many different jobs growing up, but the one that was especially meaningful to her, was working alongside her dad for his business, “Murray’s Weatherstripping”. Janet always treasured the bond she had with him. After moving to Beacon Falls, she was proud to pass the certification to become a medical coder. Janet then worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, where she developed many cherished friendships.
Janet was always active and rarely sat still. She loved walking her golden retriever, exercising, and working outside in her yard. She also maintained the Murray family tradition of becoming a talented water skier. Janet was the “secretary” of the “Cliff Jumping Association” at Holiday Point, where she awarded certificates to those who jumped.
Janet and Mark were able to provide their girls with many special memories growing up. They would often camp at Bluegrass Festivals, and travel to Cape Cod in the summers. Janet worked hard to pay for Melissa and Sandy’s opportunity to dance for over 18 years. Their home was always filled with warmth and love.
Janet was blessed to be married to her husband, Mark, for 37 years. The bond they shared was evident; especially in the way Mark was devoted to taking such care of her. Although Melissa and Sandy wish they could have had more time, they feel fortunate to have had their hard working, selfless, and caring mother for as long as they did.
Left to cherish Janet’s love and memory are her loving daughters, Melissa and husband Kiel Stango of Prospect, Sandra and husband Tom Kaminski of Terryville, Janet’s grandchildren, Ellison and Greyson Stango, and Charlotte Kaminski. She also leaves her siblings, Kathy Murray of Bethlehem, Kenneth Murray of Illinois., Laura Panettieri of Milford, and Susan Quinn and husband Thomas Quinn of Sherman; as well as many nieces and nephews. Janet is predeceased by her husband and parents, and will be missed by all she leaves behind.
