Janet Cesare, 64, of Waterbury passed away unexpectedly August 9, 2024 at her home. Janet was born October 10, 1959 in Stamford, CT a daughter of the late Robert Corbett and Janet (Slagle) Corbett. She earned her Associate’s degree from Gibbs College and went onto a successful career as a computer networker.
Janet was a loving mother and friend. Her home was always full of activity, boisterous laughter and children. Being a welcoming, fun-loving woman; she was the chosen second Mom to her children’s friends. Her six kids were the center of her life, her joy and her pride.
She loved nature, the sound of waves crashing to the shore and watching the magic of lightning and thunderstorms. She spent many hours in her garden tending her flowers and feeding and watching hummingbirds. Janet enjoyed country music, Willie Nelson one of her favorites.
Janet leaves to cherish her love and memory her children: Raymond W. Baker of Naugatuck, Robert E. Baker (Joey Tosakon) of Wallingford, Daniel J. Baker (Jelly) of Waterbury, Joseph J. Cesare (Shannon) of NC, Lisa M. Cesare (Paul Norton) of Stamford and Jacob M. vanVeen (Erin) of Stamford and granddaughter Ava vanVeen. She will be missed by her sister Susan Corbett of Newtown, a nephew, cousins and friends. Janet was predeceased by her parents.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 5 to 6:30 pm at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 6:30pm. Prospect Memorial / The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be assisting her family with her services and caring for her family throughout their grief journey.
