Loving Father, Son and Brother
James Steven Posick, 61, of Beacon Falls died peacefully Monday, July 10, 2023 while surrounded by the love of his family at Hartford Hospital. Jim was born August 11, 1961 in Derby, he was a son of Yvonne (Gagne) Posick and the late Steven Posick.
Jim was a wonderful father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He and his son, Parker, were inseparable! They rode the train at Lake Compounce hundreds of times because Parker enjoyed it so much, as well as visiting many local car shows. Jim had many favorites: Stephen King novels, The Beatles, Fords (and only Fords), steak on his George Foreman grill, carpentry, and time spent with his son and family, who meant the world to him.
Jim was a second-generation automotive craftsman. The more challenging the repair, the more he embraced it. As a teen, Jim purchased a 1940 Ford pickup, which he meticulously restored as close to original as possible. He also purchased a 1965 Ford Mustang, which he gave his own personal touches. He thoroughly enjoyed spending hundreds of hours restoring them and they were his prized possessions.
He could fix anything and loved working with his hands. His scars were a badge of honor. Jim would do anything for friends and family, but being appreciated for his time, skills and effort meant the most to him. As a teen, he and his friends never left a stranger stuck by the side of the road, always there to lend a hand to anyone in need.
He loved working at The Body Shop 110 in Shelton, where his boss and coworkers greatly appreciated and loved him. They respected his skill, experience, and to-the-point personality about how things should be done. When he was up to it, his visits there were so uplifting. Jim will be remembered for many things, but especially his love and eternal bond with his son.
Left to cherish his love and memory are his son Parker, mother Yvonne of Beacon Falls and brother and sisters: Robert Posick (Liz) of Beacon Falls, Bonnie Posick of West Haven, Brenda Marucci (Robert) of Naugatuck, and Beth Posick(Dan) of Oxford. He also leaves his nieces and nephews Cristina, Colby, Matthew, Alexa, Audra, Tommy, and Heather and his great niece Zoey.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 6pm to 8pm at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
