Harold R. Day II

Harold Reginald Day II, 82, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024. Harold was born May 23, 1942 to the late Betsy and Edward Raymond Day. He is predeceased by his sister Catherine Catala.

Harold grew up in Jamestown, Rhode Island and it was there that he learned his love for birds; he was an avid bird watcher, the chickadee being his favorite. Harold graduated from URI and later worked for the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. He had always found solace in nature and the outdoors, Alaska and England being his favorite destinations. As his daughter Kristin grew up, he too taught her how to love nature as well as traveling, knowing how to camp, and to overall appreciate the outdoors. Upon moving to Connecticut, he enjoyed looking for snowy owls at Hammonasset Beach.

Harold leaves behind to cherish his memory and his love for the outdoors, his daughter Kristin Haase (Cheshire, CT) and her husband Andreas, his grandson Marcus Haase, his sister Peggy Petrarca (Jamestown, RI) and her husband Bill, and his nephew Bill Petrarca.
