Waterbury- Harold Cox, 95, passed away on Nov. 17, 2024 at home after a short illness. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all. He was born in Easton, Maine on May 12, 1929. He moved to Vermont at 18, and entered the service and served in the Korean War. When he was discharged he moved to CT where he met the love of his life, his wife, Rose. They were married for 68 years and had 4 children.
He loved working in his yard, taking dancing lessons and going dancing every Saturday night for 20 years, dancing to Country music, holding gatherings with his family, going on cruises and walking at the mall with his wife, family and friends after he retired.
He worked at Princeton Knitting Mill where he met his wife, Bristol Co., Anaconda Manufacturing, and retired from Melard’s.
He was the son of the late Benjamin and Helen Cox. He was predeceased by his 3 siblings. He is survived by his wife Rose (Bouchard) Cox, his 4 children: Sharon (Gary) Bournival from Thomaston, CT, Wayne (Evette) Cox from Watertown, CT, Linda (Joseph) Balnis from Oakville, CT, and Gary Cox from Oakville, CT, his 6 grandkids: Terah, Kayleigh, Edward, Daniel, Alicia, and Cassandra, and his 8 great grandkids.
Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, November 22 from 11-12pm at Prospect Memorial/The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury, Rd., Prospect, CT 06712. Services will be held at 12pm followed by military honors in honor of Harold’s service to our country.
