Gerald (Jerry) Ricciardi, 83, of Southington passed away on November 24, 2023. He was the loving father of Nicole Ricciardi and Krista Pisano. Born August 5, 1940 in Waterbury, Gerald was a son of the late John and Pierina (Abbate) Ricciardi.
Gerald received a bachelor’s degree in French Literature from The College of the Holy Cross. He spent his career as a private investigator, first for insurance companies, and then for his own company, Charter Oak Claims Service. Family was the center of his life. He never missed a game, concert, or recital of his grandchildren. He was their buddy and “Peepa.” Gerald also enjoyed anything outdoors but particularly fishing, golfing, and gardening. He had a longtime love/hate relationship with the New York Giants and loved talking football with his grandson and son in law.
Gerald was of devout Catholic faith. He was a long-time communicant, and active volunteer, of the Basilica of the Immaculate. Gerald also volunteered in the Pastoral Care Department at Waterbury Hospital. In his last days of illness, reading scripture brought him much solace.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Nicole Ricciardi of Chicago, daughter Krista and her husband Kristopher Pisano of Southington, his sister Vivian Rosenthal of Waterbury, grandchildren Spenser, Connor, and Natalie Pringle and Madelynne and Leilana Pisano. He is also survived by his niece Marilyn and nephews James and Paul Ricciardi and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother Jack, sister Anita, and nephew Stephen Ricciardi.
