Francesco “Frank” Pisani, 85, of Waterbury died peacefully while surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Frank was the husband of Mary (Casuscelli) for over 57 years.
Frank was born September 18, 1935 in Pizzo Calabro, Italy, a son of the late Giuseppe and Maria Concetta (Licastro) Pisani. He worked for many years at several steel fabricating companies before cofounding Pisani Steel Fabrication with his son Joe in 1988. His work can be found in hundreds of buildings throughout the Tri-State area. Frank’s greatest pride was fabricating steel sculptures for the world-renowned artist Alexander Calder. Frank was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Unico and also The Sons of Italy.
Frank was an avid toy train, model railroad enthusiast amassing one of the largest collections of American Flyer trains in the region. He enjoyed classical music, Italian soccer, traveling, and his wife Mary’s magnificent cooking. Frank treasured spending time with his family; his grandchildren were the light of his life.
Left to mourn his passing and honor his memory are his wife Mary, sons Giuseppe Pisani of Middlebury and Franco Pisani of Colorado, daughter Gina Pisani and husband Lee Rohrlich of Milford, and his cherished grandchildren: Joseph and Frank Pisani, Natalia Loomis, Gabriella Pisani, Antonio Pisani and Alexander Loomis. He also leaves many nieces and nephews in the USA, Canada and Italy.
Frank is predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Luigi, Giorgio, Giuseppe, Pasquale, Alphonsina and Rosetta Pisani, and his 2 daughters- in-law, MaryJean and Michele Pisani.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 785 Highland Ave, Waterbury. Burial will immediately follow in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, 2324 East Main St. Waterbury. Calling hours for Mr. Pisani will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 8 AM to 10 AM at Prospect Memorial Funeral/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd. Prospect.
