Fiorino Fusco

Fiorino Fusco, 89, of Prospect passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side, December 19, 2023 at the Vitas Hospice Care St. Mary’s Hospital.  He was the devoted husband of Beverly (Raimo) Fusco for over 63 wonderful years.  Born February 25, 1934 in Pontelandolfo Italy, a son of the late Nicola and Filomena (Rinaldi) Fusco.

Fiore (Freddie) was a heavy equipment operator and member of the IUOE #478.  He enjoyed gardening, making wine and hunting.  The garden, flowers & fruit trees he planted made their little acre look like a piece of Heaven.  He was a self-taught skilled mason & hand made a beautiful patio that the whole family enjoyed together for many years.  After his retirement, He and Beverly had the time to travel, and had wonderful trips to Italy, Las Vegas and across the country.  More recently, they enjoyed weekly trips to the casino.  More than anything he loved his family and the precious times they had together.

Left to cherish his love and memory besides his wife Beverly are his daughter Kathy and husband Roger Evitts of Cheshire, daughter in law Laura Fusco of Waterbury and granddaughters Sarah Evitts & Amanda Bianchi, great granddaughters Ashlyn, Alissa and Addison as well as several nieces and nephews.  Fiorino is predeceased by his beloved son Nicholas Fusco and his sister Maria Mancini and brother Salvatore Fusco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 10:30am at St. Anthony’s Church 4 Union City Rd., Prospect   All those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm at Prospect Memorial/The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect.  Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Fusco family during this very difficult time.  Please visit www.prospectmemorial.com to share your words of comfort and support.
