Loving Wife, Mother and Grammie
Elizabeth “Betty” C. Lukeski, 82, of Prospect passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family at her side on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Betty was the loving wife of Joseph “Jim” Lukeski for 63 wonderful years. Born February 15, 1942 in Plattsburgh, New York, a daughter of the late Edward and Edith (Martineau) Kirby. Family was the center of Betty’s life, her greatest joys were her daughter Kimberly M. Haas and granddaughters Neeko and Lila Haas.
Betty was fun-loving, joyous and genuine. Her smile and outgoing ways made for easy and lasting friendships where ever she went. A woman of strong faith, Betty was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church for 62 years. Being a fabulous cook, her family loved everything she made especially her galumpkis. Being health conscious, she founded the Prospect chapter of TOPS (Take Pounds Off Sensibly). Betty loved music, singing and dancing. She and Joe were active members of the Prospect Senior Center and also enjoyed ballroom dancing twice weekly at the Wallingford Senior Center. They danced right up until one week before her passing.
Left to cherish Betty’s love and memory and mourn her passing are her husband Joe of Prospect and her daughter Kimberly Haas and granddaughters Neeko and Lila Haas of Glastonbury as well as her extended family and dear friends.
