Edward “Ned” Sheldon, 81, of Waterbury, died peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, after a brief hospitalization. Ned Sheldon was born Sep. 25, 1942, in Waterbury, Connecticut, the youngest son of Robert and Marguerite (Mclean) Sheldon.
His early life had its share of challenges including the death of his father when he was 11, being raised by a single mother in the 1950s, and a house fire that destroyed the family home. Ned retired after working many years for the Water Company in Naugatuck.
Ned was preceded in death by his father Robert Sheldon Sr., his mother Marguerite (McLean) Sheldon, his brothers Robert Sheldon and Kenneth Sheldon, and his niece Lori Sheldon.
He is survived by his nephews, Robert John Sheldon, Craig Sheldon, Jeffrey Sheldon, and Kenneth Mark Sheldon, as well as his niece Deborah Sheldon.
