Edward Plourde Obituary

Edward R. Plourde, 79, of Waterbury died peacefully on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Abbott Terrace Health Center.  Ed was born October 9, 1941 in Waterbury, a son of the late Edward H. and Mary (Chipman) Plourde.  He attended Waterbury schools and was a graduate of Crosby High School.

Ed retired as a foreman from the Waterbury Buckle Company after over 45 years of dedicated work.  He was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church.  Ed could always be counted on to help with whatever task needed to be accomplished.  Family was most important, whether babysitting his grandniece or repairs of any kind, Uncle Ed could be counted on.  He was the best brother, uncle and friend to all.

Left to cherish his love and memory are his sister Susan Hassinger, several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and friends.  Ed was predeceased by his brothers Eugene, Richard and Robert Plourde.

Ed’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation of their wonderful care to Dr. Jega, and the staff of Abbott Terrace, particularly Heidi Taggert and Erin La Rose.
