Edith Martin Obituary

Edith Mae Martin, age 89, of Prospect, CT passed away on December 5, 2021 and joined the love of her life and beloved husband Gilbert J. Martin. She was born in Eliot, Maine on October 4, 1932, a daughter of the late Bruce and Madalyn (Evans) Brannen.

Edith devoted her life and love to her family.  As a stay at home Mom, she instilled in her three children a dedication to family, generosity, and a strong Yankee ethic.  Many fond memories were made of family vacations in Maine snowmobiling, swimming and being outdoors. Edith enjoyed nature, particularly watching the birds.  Perhaps seeing cardinals brought her comfort; reminders of her dear late husband Gilbert.

Edith is survived by her daughter Tammy Petro, sons Michael Martin and Rick (Rosalie) Martin, her sister Norma Higgins, and grandchildren Bruce Martin and Gilbert Petro.  She is predeceased by her brothers John and William Brannen and sister Ruth Shepherd.
