Donna (Thomas) Green

Donna Thomas Green, 78, of Naugatuck and formerly New York passed on to her heavenly rest on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Waterbury Hospital.  She was the loving wife of Clyde B. Green.  Donna was born October 26, 1943, in New York, New York, a daughter of the late Wallace D. Thomas and Dorothy (Barrow) Thomas.

Donna was a wonderful teacher for many years in New York.   She obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work.  She is lovingly remembered for her dedication and advocacy of her special education students.  Donna was a lifelong member of The American Federation of Teachers. 

Donna was a devout Christian, as a lifelong member of Church of God in Christ, she immersed her children and grandchildren in the ways of God and service to his word and teachings.  Family was everything to Donna, many fond memories are centered around her cooking and laughter.  She will be so terribly missed but her family is comforted knowing she is at home with God, all suffering and pain is over.

Left to honor her love and cherish her memory are her loving husband Clyde, her children Shawn Riddle of New York and Samantha Riddle of Naugatuck.  She also leaves her adoring grandchildren: Jennifer Green of Waterbury, Jasmine Brunson of NY, Arnel Smith and  Clanel Smith both of Brooklyn, NY,  Derek Warren , Fazion Warren  and Nahje Riddle  all of Queens NY along with  great grandchildren; Donovan, Cameron and Khalil Johnson and Arjae` Smith.  Donna will be so missed by her siblings Deborah Thomas, Danette Thomas Holub and Dwayne Thomas all of New York.

Donna was predeceased by her parents, her grandchildren Davell and Christian Riddle and her brothers Daryl and Damon Thomas.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday March 27, 2022 at 3 pm at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd. Prospect, CT.
