Donald S. Brown

WATERBURY – Donald S. Brown, age 58 of Waterbury, passed away on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at his home after a brief illness.

Donald was born December 21, 1966, in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Thomas R. Brown Sr. and the late Shirley (Heck) Brown.  He attended St. Peter and Paul Grammar School, Crosby High School and Topeka High School in Kansas.   Don worked for many years as a medical biller in a few Waterbury medical offices and his most recent employment, before his illness, and favorite place to work was at the Pediatric Associates of Waterbury where he felt he had a second family.

Don was a very social person and was part of many people’s lives throughout his life.   His terrific sense of humor was enjoyed by so many.  He had a kind heart and was connected to many of his friends’ families becoming part of those families, some too many to name here.  Don made friends wherever he went and his neighbors became his friends.  Don also had the nickname “Reno” that many of his family and friends called him by.  

Don was always happiest when he was surrounded by the love of his friends, especially while going to the beach and out socially.  He also enjoyed car rides and relaxing in the park.  His favorite music was Stevie Nicks and he was an avid watcher of crime shows.  Don will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have known and loved him.  We will miss his great humor, mischievous sense, jokes and tails of his early life adventures. 

Among his survivors are his brother; Thomas Brown Jr. of Florida, his niece Brianna Brown of Thomaston, his maternal aunt Peggy Gouge of California, his cherished cousin Theresa Peterson of Kansas and many other cousins.   In addition, he leaves his family of friends, Charles Coretto (best friends for 53 years) and Charlie’s family, Melanie O’Connell and Mary Lou Lepore and their family, Joyce Maldonado and her family, Cindy Shepard and her family and many other family friends.  He was predeceased by his sister Sandy Brown.

Services for Mr. Brown are being hosted by his family and will be held on Tuesday, March 11 2025 when a Mass of Christian Burial  will be celebrated at 10am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 309 South Main St., Waterbury.  Friends are cordially invited to visit with Don’s family at the church from 9:30 am until the start of mass.  Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church.
