Dolores Amadeo Obituary

Dolores Amadeo, 92, passed away peacefully while surrounded in the love of her family at home on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.  She was the loving mother of seven children and grandmother to 24 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Dolly was the widow of Peter Amadeo and daughter of the late Egidio and Margaret (Prundenti) Aiello. She leaves her daughters: Catherine Geloso, Margaret (John) Bencivengo and her partner Shelby, Dolores (John) Kane, Joan (Mark) Kehlenback, Joyce (Joseph) Christian, all of Bethany and sons: Salvatore “Tory” Amadeo of Bethany and James (Anne) Amadeo of Boston. She also leaves her sister Madeline Santuoso and sister in law Fannie Vasliantone as well as her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband Peter, son in law Thomas Geloso and daughter in law Lisa Amadeo.

Dolly was always the life of the party, the center of her family gatherings, the favorite chosen mother to her children’s friends. She loved vacationing and spending time with her beloved sister Mannie, spending Saturday’s shopping and bargain hunting with her best friend Maddie. Dolly’s vibrant energy, humor and love will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Her love and memory will be cherished always.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, February 17, 2025 at 10 am at St. Vincent Ferrer Roman Catholic Church, 1006 New Haven Rd., Naugatuck with burial to immediately follow at Carrington Cemetery, Bethany. All those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Friends and family are invited to visit with Dolly’s family on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 3pm to 5pm at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect.
